Up, up and away!

Last Tuesday, dated 15th April 2008, I, zippy applechunks, managed to climb up to the highest peak in Australia. Mount Kosciuszko, standing at 2228 metres, Australia's highest peak, has been conquered on that very day.

It was a trip organised by the International Education Office of the ANU, where Ah Boy, Sheng, I, Arjun, Shawn, Winnie, Lyon, Jay Seng, Iris, Wan Phei, Su Yin, Kai Xun, Marcus, Yong Jian, Carol, Tims, Ken and many many many others participated in.

It was a tough hike, 13kms return to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. (Notice how I keep spelling the full name out, it's cause I finally found out how to spell it correctly.) And for someone as totally unfit as I am, a 13kms hike is seriously a tough feat. Which I can now proudly say I conquered.

It was a great hike, except after the first 2 hours, you sort of get bored with the surroundings. Which can literally be described in very few words. Rocks, grass, sky, sun, ice.

So by the time we reached the summit, the view of rocks, grass, sky, sun and ice wasn't all that great anymore. But well, we took pride in the fact that we made it all the way up there, and we even received certificates to prove that we made it, and of course, pictures to boot.

And just to show you that I really did not lie, here's me, with the plaque that can only be found at the summit. Oh and this photo is courtesy of the owner of the finger blurring the side of the photo. =P
