Well basically, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, unhappiness in relationships is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. He even wrote a whole book on it.

So basically there are different types of people who show their love through different ways. And he classifies those ways into 5 broad categories, as can be seen above.

See what I mean when I said I'm not the biggest fan of gifts? It's now proven. =) Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate every single gift that I've received. Very much.

It's just that I don't fancy people spending money on getting me gifts. So, next time, for birthdays or other occasions - give me a hug, send me a wish, write me a love letter, make me a card. So much more effort, so much more meaningful. =)

Unfair.

If I could, I would b-slap Mr T right this second. How is it possible that you
1. did not reply my email
2. laughed in my face when I say I think I did better
3. shrug and say you won't do it?

The case in point is my Microeconomics final results. I had a horrible disappointment when I saw it and knew that I definitely did better.

There are very rare times when I know I've done a paper well enough to receive a mark I deserve. And this was one of them.

I missed out on a pre-arranged exam viewing time due to work, and I emailed him immediately to ask him if he could arrange another time for me. He did not reply my email so I personally went to look for him today.

I asked him if I could and he straight away said "No. No, we don't do that."

I then asked if there was anything I could do and he said "No, we're too busy dealing with the new semester right now. Was it something in particular you wanted to check?".

I said "I figured I did better than what I got." He then laughed sinisterly and said "Lots of people think that because of the mid-semester exam. That was too easy. Even I (and he emphasised on the "I") could've passed that.

And then I just said thanks and walked off.

As I walked off, I started fuming.

How DARE he insulted me for being incompetent.
How DARE he not give me the right I have as a student to view my paper.
How DARE he pushed me away with a reason as silly as "busy".

Tomorrow, I'm going to march into the SA and demand my right as a student. The other day in the SRC meeting, there was actually mention of a high number of appeals this semester due to lecturers forgetting to add in the tute marks to the final mark or something like that.

I'm telling you, if Mr T did just that, I vow to bring this matter to the Chancelry.

Stolen off Facebook...

...from Will's comment on it. And his comment hit just the right spots.

"OMG. I feel exactly the same way!"

Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

That is one of the sayings that I've heard from around somewhere.

And I have recently been put in the position as the receiver.

Personally, I do love compliments, and no one complains about being flattered. However, I never knew how to react towards compliments, what more flattery.

When you say I look nice, or have done a good job, I smile a little, blush a little and say thank you. I would do that, or I would shoot you back a compliment.

But when you flatter me, like...I don't know how...I actually feel uncomfortable. (And all these is being said where I am assuming flattery is a very high praise.) Don't get me wrong, I do love being appreciated. But I just honestly don't know how to react!

So even with mild flattery I get uncomfortable, what more the said "highest form of flattery"?

So, Miss C, as much as we don't get along, it doesn't help that you imitate what I do. It gets on my nerves that you do and doesn't help one bit to the "I don't like you" part.

So, please stop. Thanks.

P.S. Will mentioned that the phrase is supposed to say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" but I just googled them both, and they both do exist. So...I'm going to stick with mine, just so that my contents are still applicable. =P

The world we live in.

I got these off one of the (rare few that I read) forwarded emails I receive from my aunt. I usually just delete them based on their subject titles, but this one intrigued me.

It was titled "Addicted to Information Technology", which I so am not, but am interested to know about.

So here're the contents:

I do realise that amongst those people I know, no one is THAT extreme just yet. But WHAT IF we do turn like this in the future?

I shudder to think that thought - when human contact is no longer existent.

Unkind words diarrhoea.

These few days, I just can't control myself.

Unkind words spew out like they don't belong in my system. Like they need to find an escape route to get out of my body. And they're coming out through my mouth.

I need to stop it. I always (finee...nearly always) feel horrible after I say it. But these few days, the simplest things get me really agitated. And when I get agitated, they just naturally appear, and without a single thought, they just fly out and attack. Like a vicious virus going airborne.

I need to get a grip. And start being less foul-mouthed.

And I need you to help me clear my confusion. No, not you. Yes, you.

WHAAAT??

So when I woke up at 7am this morning, I went in the room to check on Shuey. She was awake and said it still hurt.

So I executed my plan.

We went with Willy to Calvary Hospital Emergency department (again. My 3rd time this year liao.)

So we went about the usual - checkup, registration, wait.

So we wait wait, then doctor calls Shuey's name. So she went in. She came out, and headed to the x-ray department. Then she came out and the doctor told her "There seems to be nothing wrong with the bones, but wait here and another doctor will explain further to you." (Or somewhere along those lines lah.)

Then hor, we ma wait. And we wait. And we wait. And we wait.

Shuey got up to ask the lady how long it would take, and the lady told her to just sit and wait.

Then hor, we ma wait. And we wait. And we wait. And we wait.

Then I got up to ask a different lady to check. I asked the lady who registered us in at 7.30am. When I asked, it was 2.30pm. She checked checked and said, "Hmmm...it says here that the doctor has seen you and discharged you at 10am."

And I went like "WHAAAAAT???".

I guess she saw my expression, said sorry, and said she'll go check it out.

1 minute later, Shuey got called in to see the doctor.

3 minutes later, she came out, and said we could go home. Apparently the doctor profusely apologised for the mix-up then said there's nothing they could do as it was a ligamen tear.

So, all in all, we were there for 7 hours plus, and could've gone home 4 hours earlier.

What a WONDERFUL experience huh.

Piak! Oww! Pain! Pain! Pain!

Shoewhy fell off the bed. And tahan (break) her fall with her left arm, which has been hurting all night due to an old injury.

She fell face down, whilst carrying her laptop. Her laptop and books flew and so did she. I tried to help her. But she said "Don't move me!" and I just left her alone.

I don't know what to do. I don't know how to first aid fractures. I am totally inexperienced in it. I will only get my training in October. I am so lost.

She crouched in a corner, holding her elbows for a long time. And all I could was helplessly look at her whilst typing to Ah Boy "I don't know what to do! I don't know what to do!".

I fail as a housemate with a first aid cert. Fail. Big time.

Rachel never fell off beds. She had food poisonings, which I could deal with, with medication and bedrest.

=(

I tucked Shuey into bed, resting her hand on a pillow. She wants to see a tit ta and I definitely don't know of any here in Canbo. Moreover, I'm more of a Western medicine girl, as my mom and my brother are nurse and doctor respectively in the medical field.

My knowledge in Western medicine most definitely surpass that of my Eastern. And Shuey is an Eastern medicine person. Herbs la. This pill la. That la. I also don't know what.

Sigh. Sorry babe I can't help. Please tell me what I can do.

The only thing I know is call Willy, go to hospital, and let the doctor do what he's been taught to.

But you won't go for it.

I hope it gets better tomorrow. If not, we'll follow my plan kay? My plan usually works out. A cast, an x-ray, a few chiro krak-cracks and you should be good to go.

I hope somehow sleep can heal your pain. It does mine sometimes.

Starting already?

It is now the third day of the semester.

I skipped one hour of class this morning because I couldn't get myself to get up.

Horrible sign as to what the future holds.

Uh oh.

No zzzzs.

I am turning into an insomniac.

Either that or red wine has the same effect as caffeine on me. Sleepless nights.

I managed to fall asleep only at 4 plus am, after trying reaallly hard since 1. And I woke up sharp 7. Like. Wake up. And I've been awake since.

I want to be able to zzz normally. And by normally, I mean my type of normally. Where I can sleep as late as I want and wake up when I'm supposed to (15 minutes before work) and be happy with however many hours I slept cause I voluntarily did so.

Whilst they both work out sort of the same (i.e. I don't get a lot of hours on weekdays) one is against my will. And while there's nothing really wrong with it, it feels extremely restless!

I stare at the ceiling, I try to read my book, I try to surf the net, I try to search for people still awake and online to kacau, I twist and turn on the bed, I unpacked some boxes of books, I thought up of ideas for my business, I drew up my ideas, blabediblabeda.

I hope tonight if I sleep late, it's due to my being awake, not my being forced by the cosmic forces to stay awake.

I like my zzzzzs...I really really love 'em.

Job hunting.

I just sent in an application to work for Borders in Canberra Centre. I hope I get it.

I should be working there for the stocktake position. But I would love it so so much more if I could work there part-time.

I love being in bookstores, and being paid to do so just makes it so much better!

They sent this automatic response that states if my application is considered I'll be contacted in two weeks. So if two weeks, no noise, then ma don't get lo.

So...two weeks...I hope they contact me on Monday!!

I can't wait.

Oh. Posts about my lovely holiday to Brisbane and Gold Coast will be up. In due time. =P And one bout Cheok's graduation too.

Soon la. Kay? Soon.
