Before dawn,

a whole load of people gathered on the grounds of Parade Ground, Australian War Memorial as early as 4.30am.

They all came together as a reminder of the dawn landing on Gallipoli in 1915, to commemorate all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

It was a chilly morning, with a cold wind blowing every once in a while.

What you can see in this picture is only about half the people present

A bunch of five of us : Jess, Shuey, Jay Seng, Aron and I went in Doodah's car.

The flash a tad bit too bright on my end

Having fun with the torch

It was a solemn event, but beautiful in its own way. It was beautiful in a sense that you could feel the atmosphere and you felt like you belonged. You could feel the pain of those soldiers and the pain of their loved ones. You feel thankful for those soldiers for without them, there would be no Australia as it is now. You feel like a part of Australia, that you aren't just a visitor. And that's a beautiful feeling.

Just as the event was ending, a tiny shower came around to wash away the grief and bring new hope as the dawn breaks.
