A bit scary.

Today at work, everyone in the department got called in for a talk by the manager. And the manager starts with, "You now have to earn your shifts. Shifts are given based on performance, so if you're not performing you will find yourself with no shifts for an amount of time."

This is due to the economy so the company is trying to budget, and only wants people who are performing. Understandable. But to be hearing it on my third day at work, quite the ganas. And somemore manager added "We all know who's performing and who's not, but I'm willing to erase and start on a clean slate, and start monitoring from now onwards."

WAH. Good thing I'm still new and don't quite know exactly how to slack yet. =P

But on another good side, I finally get weekend shifts, two Sundays in a row, and Friday nights, and Saturdays too. I THINK I get higher pay for those. I'm really not quite sure. I sure hope I do. Either way, wooo I get quite a lot of shifts for a newbie. Oooo maybe I'M PERFORMING WELL! =)

Also, I got my first Target payslip today. Opening it felt like opening a birthday present! Get to tear along the perforated line and all that mumbo jumbo. So fun! And to think I will get to open this present every week from now on! =)
