I Love You, Boss!

Yes, I love my boss. To death. Okay, maybe not to death, but close to. I mean, which boss in the world lets you start work late without taking off your pay, which boss in the world lets you take home free food, which boss in the world lets you off the hook when you forget that you're supposed to work!

Well, the story is, I jumped out of bed at 10am today, with something biting my conscience. What did I forget? What did I forget? Was there an ISD meeting that I forgot? No. Was there an MSO meeting? No. Was there a seminar that I was supposed to attend? No.

CRAP! I was supposed to work at 8.30am today! Argh! Argh! Argh!

I called a bakery colleague to make sure that my fears were not redundant. Lo and behold, she went "I thought you were at the bakery already." Argh! Argh! Argh! And so I called Ter Lee to ask "How? How? How?" (Forgive the repetitions, it happens when nervous/excited.)

Ter Lee was like "Call your boss la, and ask how." (Or something along those lines.) And so I dialled the bakery number. And Cindy, the boss' daughter picked up.

Cindy: Campus Bakery!
Me: Hi Cindy, can I speak to Mr.Miller please?
Cindy: Hold on, I'll get him. (Ron! It's one of our staff.)
Boss: Hello there. How's it going?
Me: Hi Mr. Miller. Xin Yi here. I am so so sorry. I just realised that I was supposed to work today.
Boss: Oh it's all right. [It's all right? He said "It's all right."!!!]
Me: So...do you still need me there?
Boss: I think we'll be all right. We have Nini and another girl. We should do fine.
Me: Really? Oh, I am so so so sorry. I will make it to my next shift on Friday, I promise.
Boss : I shall see you then! Bye!

I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with a boss like that? (Strictly boss-employee love that is.)
