Babababallllloooooonnnnnsssss!!!

The 2007 Novotel Balloon Fiesta Australia was held on the Lawns of Old Parliament House from 13th to 16th of April.

Formal introduction aside, it is one of those things that happens in Canberra that we all go gaga over, cause well, there isn't much in Canberra to go gaga about.

So, we (Willy, Diong, Rach and I) went to the place at 5:30am. OH YES, 5:30AM. Cause the event starts at 6am and the roads close then for the Canberra Marathon, which is also going on at the same time.

We went there, the sun has NOT risen and it was all dark-ish, just about to start getting light. It was a pretty sight, though it's not like I've never seen sunrise in Aussie before. With the times that I sleep, it's not all that surprising. Hee.

And then people started to gather, and we just stood around some people who were setting up their hot air balloon.

Oh, did I not mention? The balloon fiesta was about hot air balloons. Not helium, or oxygen. We're not all that sad as to blow up 10 billion balloons and just let them go in the air and call it a balloon fiesta. Though *light bulb lights* that'd be a cool thing too.

And then time passes, we stood in the cold shivering and bouncing like balls, these balloons began to look like balloons instead of wrinkled huge pieces of cloths on the grass. And the process, oh so cool.



There was a house balloon, a football balloon and other more normal-looking ones.




Well, anyway, after that, on the way back, we saw this totally cute balloon. It's MIKE WAZOWSKI! I think that's how you spell it anyway. You know, the short, bright green, one-eyed dude in Monsters Inc.. So totally cute la.


As they were still blowing up Mike, it's claws and teeth would move cause you know, air going in and all that. And I saw this really hilarious thing, a kid was actually frightened of it! He was screaming at his parents, "Aaaahhh I'm scared! I don't want to be near that thing! It scares me!". The funniest part? He was half pushing his pusher trolley back further away from the 'moving' Mike. Well well, I guess Mike would make a good scarer monster too huh.

Ah Boy, you missed it all la. Now wasn't ALL that way better than sleeping?
