It's interesting how you can evaluate how a person deals with a part of life by how they deal with some really basic everyday ongoings.
Like today (technically yesterday cause it's 1.28am), I was telling Miss Tan about how I watch my shows. How I HAVE to watch every single second of a show and not miss a moment or a word or a change of scene. And how once I start watching a show, no matter how horrible it is, I make it a point to watch it till the end.
And the first thing she tells me is "Wah then your love life ma very cham loh. You go on and on until long piak loh." [long piak is hokkien for hit the wall]
And I agree. I do very much agree. It was just like I was telling Chia Pei the other day in her room, it's like there's this swimming pool and I just dunk straight into it. Cannonball is the way to go, I say.
She said no, must test the waters first. Ngam, then only slowly go in.
Naaaah, so not me.
I cannonball in. When I start to drink water liao, or drowning liao, then I'll slowly paddle paddle paddle my way to the surface, slowly paddle paddle paddle to the end of the pool, and climb up that railing to dry land.
And the next time I see the glistening of the pool, I head right back in.
Why? Don't ask me. It's just me.
So, following the wise words of Dory from 'Finding Nemo':
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming....
