Yesterday on the way home, I saw with my own eyes, an accident happening.
(I think this is one of the things Diong wanted to see once in his lifetime.)
Anyway, it was on the KESAS highway (I think), the one from KLIA heading towards Kota Kemuning. And then it was near the junction where my senior was going to turn in.
And suddenly, we saw this van skidding and then it started flipping! Like not side to side flipping. Like up down flipping. Like pancake flipping. Like omelette flipping.
And glass was shattering everywhere and the things in the van were going all topsy turvy. And there was this Waja (I think) which the van was heading to, which braked immediately and stopped at the side.
IT WAS A HORRIBLE SIGHT!
And then lucky for the driver, after the van has done its part flipping, it stopped right side up. But the front was facing us. So like it turned and faced the other way lah. And so my senior and I could see the driver. And his head was down on the steering wheel.
And for that one moment I stopped breathing. Oh goodness, is he unconscious? Is he...gone?
And 2 seconds later, when we drove past him, careful to avoid all the broken glass and all, we saw him wake up and open his eyes. And the breath that I was holding was finally let out.
And for the rest of the night, the image of the van flipping kept replaying itself.
My senior says "Sometimes you're chosen to watch these for a reason. To remind you of how short life is."
And I added "Yeah, and to remind you not to speed on highways."
