Meals prepared with tender loving care are the ones that taste best.
This is why home-cooked meals usually taste better.
Home-cooked meals by people you know taste even better.
Home-cooked meals by people you love taste HEAVENLY.
A mother who spends her afternoon and evening preparing dinner for the family cooks one of the best meals in the world. No 5 or 6 star chef can compare, not even with years of experience.
A husband who surprises his wife with a lovely meal after she's had a tired day at work (husband cooking, therefore the usage of the word "surprise") would have made a delicious meal, even if the roast was burnt in the oven and the soup tasted like he put sugar instead of salt in it.
Some people say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I think the way to anyone's heart is a lovely gesture, and this, in this context, would come in the way of cooking a meal.
Just a plain meal, even. A piece of toast, specially buttered just the way you like it.
And in one day, I received two McTLCs. One in the morning, in the form of a Mickey Mouse breakfast - made from two choc crepes with banana slices and two mini pizzas as ears.
Granted it's not the cutest meal, but the sincerity that goes into making it, makes it even cuter than any Mickey Mouse that Walt Disney himself can draw.
And then I went to work, and small boss (referred to as such as he is the big boss' son) made me another of my special pies. It's unique and cannot be found anywhere else. It's basically a chicken pie, with loads of chilli powder on top, just the way I like it. And I usually ask him to make me a special one, but not this time. But boy was I happy when he made it for me.
A normal chicken pie:

And then I come home after a tiring day from work and classes and assignments and I have shooey cook me mee hun ke.
I feel so loved, and after talking bout all the food I consumed yesterday, a bit fat too. Fatteningly loved. =)
