Somehow in my mind I picture rain, where instead of water droplets, Post-It reminders are falling from the sky.

A sad truth known.
After many sudden bouts of hives, Shuey claims that I'm allergic to seafood.
And after many thoughts about it, I think she might be right.
I don't want to be allergic to seafood. Seafood is yummy. I have eaten seafood all my life and it can't be out to get me NOW. NOW when I know how to enjoy it. =(
*throws tantrum*
Maybe if I carry my medication around, I still can eat seafood. So everytime the hives pop up to say hi, I swallow the little pill and say bye.
Maybe, just maybe, that might work.

*death*
If there's anything I learnt today, adrenaline and sugar can keep you working for 12 hours, on a 13.5 hour long spree with 1.5 hours break in between.
I ended my 6-hour long shift at bakery from 7.30am to rush to Target for another 3-hour long + 3-hour long shift with an hour break in between. And by 8pm, I had reddish eyes and sore feet and sore hands and my brains were shutting down.
To make things worse, for my second 3-hour long shift I got transferred off to Ladieswear. In the apparel world, if there's one department you never want to be in, it's Ladieswear. I have been very very content with Baby Wear, okayly content with Menswear and then my manager decides to throw me into Ladies.
I managed to conclude something as I was working today. Either I am more efficient than the ang mohs who work with me, or my managers hate me. They seem to always send me to the worst disaster area, and get me to clean up the entire place before the end of my shift.
If it was because I was more efficient, probably I am the only person who CAN clean up before the end of the shift. [Haha, self praise much?]
If they hate me, it's because it's in such a bad condition that they need to korban me to go fix it up.
Either way, it's no fun. I don't like being bounced around. Cause I keep having to memorise new places for things. Not like it's hard, seeing as my brain has been built with a memory for the most nonsensical things [this definitely classifies as one of those], but just that it's a bit annoying. Especially when I'm still memorising and I have customers coming up to me to ask if I knew if there were any more of so-and-so, or where is so-and-so, and I would appear dumb cause I have no idea yet.
Like if they came to me in Baby Wear, I could just direct them right away. There, there, there. Owh wells.
I also found out today that I won't get my staff card for another 2 months. Boo. Both my "closest" new friends who started at the same time already got theirs, because they're permanent part timers and they get theirs after a month. Bleh.
But haha, I must say, seeing as how my shifts keep increasing, and referring to my manager's speech the other time, and seeing how I'm NOT seeing that annoying girl who complained bout her smelly feet, I'm guessing I earned those shifts and she's not getting any. I must be doing something right, even though my name tag is still a sticker and I still don't have a phone of my own.
Work is tiring, but definitely rewarding. =) More so when the bank balance keeps increasing. *wink*

22.
In these 22 years of life, I've gotten to know myself, and live for myself, and do things that satisfy myself.
I've been a selfish girl, thinking more for myself than for others. Then it dawned on me that I have to be selfish, for if I don't love myself, no one will love me.
Nope, not an emo post. Not even near.
In these 22 years, I've come to realise the importance of relationships, be it family, friends, colleagues, or even strangers. Communication helps the world go round. It helps to pass the time, helps get things going, helps you pass the day without you screaming your head off at yourself. And thus relationships are amongst one of my most treasured possessions.
This year, my wishes are not far from last year. Maybe a few minor changes. Except this year, I really do want them to come true. They're not just wishes, I want them.
I want to get my PR. I want a job. I want a _______. I want my daddy to get better. I want my mommy's boss to treat her better. I want my big brother to have a kid (or more). I want my second brother to get a girlfriend (so that she can pamper me =P). I want my gramps to not feel like he doesn't have much time left, and enjoy his life instead. I want my grams to be able to travel the world like she longs to. I want my ah yi yi to find a man who will love and care for her. I want all my friends to not stress over life and the complications that come with it.
And no I am not a saint who wants the best for others and nothing for herself. I just want presents that are less materialistic and more long-lasting.
I'm sure at the strike of 12 tonight, I will be swarmed with people who love me and are willing to stay up and be here in the midst of all their assignments and exams. And in advance, I thank all of you. =)
Boy and Chiox, I thank the two of you too okay, you're not forgotten. =)
Aits, you too. Unless you suddenly suplise and appear in front of me. =P
Okay, happy birthday to me(in...bout 5 hours)!

Baabe : Ram in the city.
HOHMYGOODNESS. A RAM IS TIED TO A POST WANDERING (AS FAR AS IT CAN) OUTSIDE MY APARTMENT.
Barney was the one who came to tell, cause he heard the incessant mehhh-ing.
Then I looked out, and HOHMYGOODNESS it was there.
Then I saw two humans come and one of them was patting the ram, then untied it and took it away.
I tried so hard to get a picture, but it was too dark, and all I could get was BLACK.
Such a weird scene.
Ram in the city. Weird.

A blessing in disguise.
I was supposed to work this coming Friday night (read: Friday night pay woo!) but I had to give up my shift as it clashes with HKSS, TSA and CSSA's Avenue of Stars Concert Night.
And I was all sad (and part guilty) cause I really did not want to say no to shifts this early, being a new employee and all. But a promise to a friend is worth more than money to earn (maybe not as much as getting fired, but technically there were no grounds for firing I think). [Why am I using so many brackets?]
But all's well ends well. Today at work (bakery) I got a call from Target. My manager asks if I could work Saturday from 8-4pm. I couldn't say YES fast enough.
1. It's weekend pay, which might be more or equal to Friday night pay!
2. It's double the amount of hours I was originally given.
Granted, I might have gotten it whether or not I gave up that Friday shift. Cause my manager said "See you Friday then!" and I was like...erm...no, actually you won't.
But I like to think it as a silver lining. =)
(Chiox, I'm a thank God it's payday person. For now anyway.)
P.S: LOOKIE HERE! 5 May 2009 DEPOSIT-SALARY TARGET AUSTRALIA 161.33 =) =) =)

A bit scary.
Today at work, everyone in the department got called in for a talk by the manager. And the manager starts with, "You now have to earn your shifts. Shifts are given based on performance, so if you're not performing you will find yourself with no shifts for an amount of time."
This is due to the economy so the company is trying to budget, and only wants people who are performing. Understandable. But to be hearing it on my third day at work, quite the ganas. And somemore manager added "We all know who's performing and who's not, but I'm willing to erase and start on a clean slate, and start monitoring from now onwards."
WAH. Good thing I'm still new and don't quite know exactly how to slack yet. =P
But on another good side, I finally get weekend shifts, two Sundays in a row, and Friday nights, and Saturdays too. I THINK I get higher pay for those. I'm really not quite sure. I sure hope I do. Either way, wooo I get quite a lot of shifts for a newbie. Oooo maybe I'M PERFORMING WELL! =)
Also, I got my first Target payslip today. Opening it felt like opening a birthday present! Get to tear along the perforated line and all that mumbo jumbo. So fun! And to think I will get to open this present every week from now on! =)
