Gossip.

The other day I found out some funny gossip about something one Mr Fenner participant once said in his Q&A session.

Mr Fenner is this beauty pageant for guys who live in Fenner Hall, I think.

And in all beauty pageants, aside from showing off your assets, you also have to answer "intelligent" questions.

So this participant was asked, "When do you think world peace can be achieved?".

He answered: (Translations are due to privacy reasons)
Translated to Malay
Hari yang perempuan tua dari kedai roti jatuh cinta dengan pemandu bas sekuriti, itulah hari dunia ini akan mencapai keamanan.

Translated to Chinese Pinyin
Mian pao dian de lao nu ren ai shang pao an che de shi ji de na yi tian hui shi shi jie he ping de tian.

And yes, that guy won.

Health check. Check. Check.

Today I went for a Uni Health Services health check. The Uni clinic decided to run free tests for all students, and I decided to sign up for it. Why not? I've got nothing to lose (except for a few drops of blood and some time).

I later found out that this was to aid in the doctor's treatment should we visit the doctors. They would then know more information about their patients aside from their name, address, phone number and whether they're insured.

So, a series of tests were run. Blood pressure, blood sugar levels, height, weight and from the height and weight the BMI.

And I pass the exam! I'm healthy. With a blood sugar level of 4.8 and a BMI of 24.4. Yes yes I know...I'm barely off being overweight. I shouldn't rejoice just as yet.

But I will continue to work work work work...sleeep....

Speedy gonzales!

WOAH. I have never muat turun at such amazing kelajuan before.

Two days ago, I xia zhan this program which normally caters for Chinese show duo-rens. And lo and behold the kuai su threw me off balance! I xia zhan-ed one episode in 5 minutes! And by the end of the day I managed to dan-luo the entire series!

It was amazing! The speed was at 400kBps at one point in time, and whilst this might mean nothing to those who were using DC before this, it means a lot to me, running on an apparently kaboom-ed internet quota.

Too bad that application only somehow has super speeds for Chinese duo-rens, I tried some of my others and it didn't even budge from 0.0%.

Oh well, we can't get everything we wish for.

Special treatment.

Whoa. I just realised today, when I logged in to someone's uni account that she gets special treatment!

No wonder she can access Facebook for long amounts of time whilst she procrastinates on her studies.

Mushroom.

I have reverted to my old school days.
Nope, I haven't turned rebellious. I never was one. =P

I have gone back to the days of short hair. And it was a long process to get there.

I first had to wake up at 8.40, so I could be in time for my 9.15am appointment. I then headed out, and half way there I realised I forgot my voucher, so I had to run back to get it. Nearly made me late had I not ran all the way.

Reached there at 9.10am, just in time. The lady boss asked what I wanted to do, I said "Oh, I'd like a shoulder-length bob, curving down to the front."

She's like "Oh, that would look good on you."

And I'm like "Good, cause that's how I intend to look."

Then she had her apprentice get things ready and told her a brief description of how to cut, and we set off working on my hair.

We first shampoo-ed it, wow that's one heck of a good and gentle head massage I received, and then she started to dress me up in a Princess Leia-ish thing with this heavy rubber thingie to I-don't-know-do-what.

Yes, you can tell I've never had my hair cut by a hairdresser before, my mom usually cuts my hair.

Then she cut cut cut cut cut...then I cannot see what she's doing cause I didn't have my glasses on, nor can I do anything much, so I just stared at a blur image of her cutting my hair.

Then later, suddenly the boss said "Hold on, you're not doing it right, let me show you this technique that you can do when you're layering the hair. What you're essentially doing is cutting it shorter, when you only want to thin the hair."

And I went WHAT HAS SHE DONE TO MY HAIR in my head. Which was when I noticed the length of my hair. Remember I said I wanted shoulder-length earlier? Now it's at least a cm or two above. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Then later the boss came around and showed "the technique" and then realised that the apprentice has been cutting my right and left hand sides unequally. DOUBLE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Apparently she cut the left curved but the right straight. TRIPLE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

So the boss had to fix it, and it got shorter, and shorter, and shorter, and shorter. And it took a friggin' total of TWO HOURS, making me late for work.

And now, I'm mushroom head. Hello.

Oh my goodness I'm so blur.

I can't get any worse.

I woke up this evening (after a long nap), and went to take a shower. I took a nice long warm shower, and then came out and was surprised that the room door was closed and the room was dark (I think, or were the lights on, I'm not even sure anymore.)

Then I proceeded to (turn on the lights if it wasn't on) dry my hair blablabla. And then I walked out of the room and "Eh? Miss Tan not at home? She went out ha.".

But it was normal if she went out for a short while, maybe to the laundry, maybe to Diong's room, maybe down to get some things from somebody from the foyer. But then I sat here, for like 15 minutes to half an hour or so, and I'm like...eh...where's this girl? I look to my right (where she normally sits) and uh oh. I notice her keys. Did she forget her keys?

So I asked Diong, eh do you know where she is? And he's like "nop".

And that was when I realised why the room door was closed. I opened it, looked into the room, and there she was, peacefully sleeping under the covers.

Oh, and happy independence, my beloved home country!

Canberra turning into Gotham?

I recently heard this saddening piece of news.

Apparently a lecturer was assaulted by a person (I'm guessing student) with a knife late one day around 8.30pm.

The outcome, I do not know, but the lecturer was not harmed (not seriously, anyway).

But the fact that these things are happening, that I now have to watch my back while I travel the safe streets of Canberra, I do not like. I love this place, for the security it provides me, for the safe environment, amongst many other things.

And if one day, should it turn unsafe like big cities such as Sydney or KL, I might fled town and run to an even more remote area. And THAT is something I definitely do NOT look forward to.

=(

So cute.

The other day, CP came back to Canberra, to say hi and to pick up some more of her stuff (I think).

She came with Kenny from Melbourne, and they drove here in a cute little Smart car, full of advertisements!!

But I've never actually seen a Smart car up close with people in them. I usually see them parked by the road or driving by.

And whilst I didn't have long to bond with CP during her extremely short visit, or long to say "HI!" to Kenny who was driving, or long to admire the cute car as there were cars coming behind, I DID manage to get this (and CP might just hate me for putting it up *wink*) :

Haha! So ngam!

These few days I've been running around searching for extra jobs due to my extremely high load of expenses from the payment of airfares.

And then I sleep really late, as my time at home is spent working on my huge amounts of assignments that continue to pile up.

And as I am trying to give my head a rest from reading my Sociology brick, I decided to flip through the comics in the papers today.

I browsed through them, and then decided to have a look at the horoscope. And that was when I had a little giggle:

"As financial issues affect Taurean emotions at the moment, it is likely you will do as much as you can to bring in a more satisfactory income. Efforts should bring results."

I can't wait for the "results"! =)

Sigh...

I just came across another blog post defaming the effort put in for Malam Gemilang.

At this point, I really can't be too bothered anymore. The event is past and gone, what's done is done.

But sometimes, I just don't get it. Oh, and gosh this person complained oh-so-much about nothing, which makes it much much worse than xxx, I dare even say. On that note, thank you xxx for your apologies and for your acknowledgement of the effort put in.

And, truly, sometimes I think people do NOT deserve what they're getting.

Having read the many loads of comments on that post alone, I guess I'm not alone in thinking so. But I did have a good laugh.
